Reading Chart printable

Following on from my previous post, reading was a big thing we needed to encourage Ella to do so I made up this chart to get her motivated to read (or let me read to her) on a daily basis.  Now she happily sits through book after book after book!  Even her kindy teachers have mentioned Ella loves to have books read to her during morning tea break.  She obviously can't read properly yet, but 6months ago she wouldn't even let us read to her!  It's also cute to watch her read a book to us in her own version, she currently loves a gingerbread book we were given...  'run run run as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man!' Its great when she gets into the story and very passionately tells us whats happening in her own words.  I love reading myself and hopefully I will pass that love along to her as she grows up.

I'd suggest laminating this sheet also so you can use it over and over again.  You could even start the number of books per day low and gradually increase them, make it work for your child!  :-)

Rewards Chart printable

I started reading an article the other night from a teacher who said she thinks reward charts and the the like aren't good to use as it teaches the kids you need an incentive before you do something.  I didn't finish the article as I didn't agree, not for our situation anyway.  Encourging Ella to do certain things can be really hard.  I am a true believer that not one way of parenting works for all, you do what works for you today as next week its sure to change anyway!!!!  So, for us a rewards chart works well as recently Ella has started to understand a bit better.  It still doesn't work somedays but if I have to bribe her with a special star to get her to brush her teeth you bet I will!   Besides as adults we are more likely to shop or use services if we get bonus points, or something more out of it, so whats the difference???

So if like us a simple rewards chart would work for your kids, I thought I'd share mine.  We like to keep things uncomplicated here and generally her weekly reward is small things, like a playground trip or a library visit or swimming.  I'm so grateful that Ella is happy with anything, especially if we make it sound exciting! 

My tip is to laminate this sheet so you can use it each week.  Get the kids to colour in the stars in texta or whiteboard markers so wipes off easily!

Pumpkin & Cauliflower Soup

Yesterday day when it was cold and raining down in buckets, I channeled my Mum who loves soup on a rainy day (secretly I do too!).  Hubby's not a huge soup fan, but since he was pretty out of it after his shoulder surgery, he didn't care too much.  He even enjoyed it!






















Pumpkin & Cauliflower Soup

Ingredients:
  • 1 onion
  • 160g cauliflower, roughly chopped medium pieces
  • 600g pumpkin (kent or jap), roughly chopped medium pieces
  • 1 Tbsp of stock concentrate
  • 600ml water
  • 2 Tbsp sour cream
  • Salt & Pepper to taste

Method:
I used my bellini, but you could use do this on the stove top then just blitz with a blender.
  1. Blitz up the onion (optional: saute off with a splash of oil if you want, I don't bother)
  2. Add remaining ingredients and cook for 30mins on speed 1 @ 100.
  3. Depending on the size pieces of vegetables you may need to cook for a further 5mins.
  4. I prefer my soup thick, so I drained out some of the water.  If you do this just keep it aside in case you want to add some of it back in.
  5. Add sour cream, salt & pepper then hold the MC down tight, mix til smooth. I used speed 6 for 45seconds.
  6. Serve hot with some fresh bread!

Chocolate Cheesecake Mousse

This week's chocolate craving hit a bit earlier in the day so I had time to prepare some desserts and let them sit in the fridge to set in time.  Plus it was super easy as it only had 4 ingredients!

I made this recipe based on two recipes I found on Pinterest, one was a mousse and one was a dip.  I liked bits from both, they were very similar with just different outcomes, so I combined the two ideas into a mousse using the ingredients and quantities I had on hand.






















Chocolate Cheesecake Mousse
Made: 4 x small jars (approx 200ml each)

Ingredients:
  • 300ml thickened cream
  • 225g cream cheese, softened
  • 140g chocolate hazelnut spread
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence

Method:
  1. Whip cream until it starts to get thick but not fully whipped (as you don't want to over whip it)
  2. Add remaining ingredients and mix together until smooth and all lumps gone.
  3. Pour into jars, cups or bowls (whatever you choose to serve it in) and allow to set in fridge for at least 2hrs.
  4. Serve with ice cream, fruit and chocolate shavings, or just eat it as it is!!!!!

Lime Cheesecake

Hubby loves cheesecake so when I was making a joint birthday cake for him and a friend I decided to use up a heap of limes and other ingredients that I had on hand.  This was super creamy and tasty!






















Lime Cheesecake

Ingredients:
  • 250g dry sweet biscuits (any type, good to experiment with what you have)
  • 125g butter, melted
  • 300ml thickened cream
  • 1/4 cup icing mixture
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 can condensed milk
  • 250g cream cheese, soft
  • Juice from 5-6 limes
  • Zest from a couple of limes

Method:
  1. Spray a 20cm spring form cake tin with spray oil.
  2. Blitz up the dry biscuits in a food processor and mix with melted butter.
  3. Press mixture into the prepared tin firmly and sit in fridge.
  4. With a hand beater, food processor, bellini or thermomix, whip the cream, icing mixture and vanilla until thickened, take out 2-3 tablespoon for top decorations if you want.
  5. Add condensed milk and cream cheese and beat until combined and no lump in mixture.
  6. Add juice from the limes and mix together well.
  7. Pour onto base and refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours. 
  8. Decorate with the whipped cream and zest
I used lattice biscuits for my base as thats all I had in the cupboard and surprisingly it came out quite nice and light and flaky!  Experimenting with what you have on hand pays off!

Monster Bookmark Printable Template

Ella is really loving doing crafts at the moment and when googling new ideas I came across this monster bookmark which I thought was cute.  The site I found them on made them extra colourful by using multiple coloured paper, but for a quick craft for a 4yr old I wanted to simplify it, so I did!  Thought I'd make a template of my simplified version to share.

Hidden Veg Fritters

Another attempt to get Ella to eat tonight was with these hidden veg fritters that I made look like pancakes with coloured specks!  Of course she wasn't really interested in them but hubby and I thought they were lovely so we polished ours off and had spares to freeze for another attempt with Ella on a different day.






















Hidden Veg Fritters
Made: way too many to count and the last one was gigantic as I was sick of flipping!

Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups SR Flour
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • kernals from 2 cobs corn
  • 3/4 cup peas
  • 1 large carrot
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese
  • 3-4 slices of bacon - optional
  • salt & pepper to taste
Method:
  1. In a food processor, bellini or thermomix, blitz up the veggies & bacon so they are nice and fine.
  2. Add remaining ingredients and mix until well combined.
  3. Heat a frypan with a little oil and just like pancakes pour batter onto hot frypan and flip when they start to show bubbles.  Continue to fry off the fritters until all batter is used up.
We served ours on a bed of mash sweet potato and a side of beans.

Green Juice #2

I am really getting the hang of this juicing without a juicer!  I love that the belini makes whole juice and not just extracts all the sugars so we are getting all the fibre and goodness in these juices. Plus we don't have to use up half the fridge to get one cup of juice, double bonus!

Lamington Cupcakes

Yesterday Ella's kindy celebrated Harmony Day with a little party where we shared foods from different cultures. I wanted to bring lamgintons, a true Aussic classic, but I wanted to make it a bit easier for me to make (less work) plus I had found these super cute Aussie cupcake liners so thought why not make them into cupcakes!

I found this recipe in my cookbook, not sure where it originated from as its been in there a few years, I just made a quarter amount of icing as only needed it for the tops.






















Lamington Cupcakes
Made: 20 small-medium cupcakes

Ingredients:
  • 125g butter, soft
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups SR Flour
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk (or normal milk)
  • Coconut for sprinkling on tops
ICING
  • 1/2 cup icing mixture
  • 1 Tbsp cocoa
  • 1/2 tsp butter, soft
  • up to 1 Tbsp Boiling water  
Method:
  1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees and line muffin tray with cupcake liners.
  2. Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs and mix together until well combined.
  4. Add flour and buttermilk gently mix together.
  5. Pour into cupcake liners and bake for 15-20mins or until a skewer comes out clean when tested.
  6. Allow to cool down completely before icing.
  7. In a small bowl add icing mixture, cocoa & melted butter.
  8. Gradually add boiling water tiny bits at a time and mix well until you get a good thick icing consistency (I found using a whisk easiest). You may not need all the water so do it gradually.
  9. If you add too much water, just add more icing mixture.
  10. Ice top of the cupcakes and sprinkle with coconut

Chocolate Heaven

Ok so I've been pretty good all week, had few juices, some of which I haven't blogged as forgot to take photos and tonight I felt like chocolate, and I mean anything chocolatey. So I came up with this for desert based on ingredients I had and the amount of energy I was willing to input to make something!

OMG it was so good.  I didn't even care about the sugar headache I had afterwards it was too yummy to worry about such little things LOL!!!

Warning: look no further if you are watching calories etc...























Layers from bottom to top are:
  • Melted chocolate
  • Crushed oreo's
  • Chocolate whipped cream (just a bit of the melted chocolate mixed into whipped cream)
  • Melted chocolate
  • Plain whipped cream
  • Crushed oreo's
  • Drizzle of melted chocolate
If I had any caramel sauce left that would have gone into it too!!!

Now I did warn you about the calories so its your own fault for continuing to read!!!!

So if you dare, go make yourself a chocolate heaven!

Banana & Pineapple Cakes

The other night I felt like something sweet but not chocolate (I know, shock horror! LOL) so I popped my head into fridge to see what I had that I could use up.  I love using up remaining ingredients, no wastage here!

I made up these yummy and super moist banana & pineapple cakes with a few substitutions to make them a bit healthier.  They were really yummy so I thought I better share.






















Banana & Pineapple Cakes
Makes: approx 12 small cupcakes (these are smaller than the standard muffin tray but not mini)

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup SR flour
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • 2/3 cup natural yoghurt
  • 2/3 cup applesauce (homemade)
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 150g pineapple
  • 150g banana
  • 50g mixed seeds (could use nuts eg: walnuts)

Method:
  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees and line a muffin tin with liners.
  2. Using a food processor, bellini or thermomix, blitz up the seeds or nuts so they are crushed up a bit.
  3. Add remaining ingredients and mix until combined. (depending on your applesauce or yoghurt, if the mixture seems too wet, just add a little bit more flour).
  4. Pour into cupcake liners and bake for approx 20-25mins or until cooked thru.
These are really nice on their own, but hubby enjoyed a bit of cream cheese frosting on top of his.

Crab Puppet Printable Activity

Ella loves little puppet activities.  She has a 5 little ducks one and since I had designed this crab for an scrapbooking kit ages ago I went on the hunt for a crab poem to go with it so she had a second puppet set.  I found the poem here, but didn't like the 'cranky' part so I renamed it Happy Crabs as my crabs were smiling!

Hope your little one gets as much fun out of it as Ella has!  I suggest laminating the crabs after cutting them out so they last longer.  Enjoy!

Chocolate Chip Arancini Balls

There is a long standing rule in this house, if we have rice for dinner I must leave some left over to make Creamy Rice as its one of hubby's favourites.  Today I wanted to do something slightly different but still give him his rice pudding, well sort of!

I been seeing Arancini Balls everywhere lately and always wanted to try them, but we aren't big risotto eaters so I have been putting off trying them out.  Then today I thought, why not try sweet arancini balls...  so I did...






















I totally forgot to do measurements (as I was inventing) so here is are the basic directions to what I did.

  1. Blitzed up some leftover biscuits from the cookie container (you know all the half one no one wants to eat!) and some cheerios to make sweet crumbs.
  2. Mixed a splash of vanilla essence and a couple tablespoons of runny cream into the left over rice. You don't want it wet, just sticky.
  3. Formed balls with my hands and stuffed a few choc chips into each ball.
  4. Roll in the crumb mixture.  Once all rolled & crumbed, heat up a small saucepan with inch or so deep of oil.
  5. Carefully place one ball at a time into hot oil and using a slotted spoon kept moving them around in the oil for 20seconds remove and drain on paper towel. I only had 3 cooking at a time so there was no chance of burning them.
  6. Serve hot with ice cream, or a dipping sauce.

Kiwi Jam

Happy St Patricks Day!

I wanted to share something green today, so here is the Kiwi Jam I made for a friend of mine last week.  I'm actually not a big fan of kiwi fruit, so when I got given a bag of them only the day after my friend joked I need to make her some kiwi jam, I knew exactly what I was going to do to use them all up!  Surprisingly in the end it tasted pretty good even for a non kiwi fruit eater like myself! LOL.  Plus it was a big hit at her St Pat's Day work morning tea yesterday.

The original recipe came from the Thermomix site, with only a few adjustments.






















Kiwi Jam

Ingredients:

  • 600g fresh kiwi (peeled)
  • 1 apple (peeled and cored)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 200g sugar
  • 1/2 tsp gelatine powder - optional
Method:
  1. I use a bellini (fake thermomix) so I just popped all the ingredients into the bowl except the gelatine and gave a quick turbo chop.
  2. Then set to 35mins at 100 degrees at speed 2 (no MC, put the basket on top of the lid instead to avoid splatters)
  3. When that finished I mixed about a tablespoon of water with the gelatine and added to the bowl then finished off with 7mins at 100 degrees at speed 2. This is optional if you think the jam is set enough don't worry about it as it does thicken up a bit once in the fridge.
  4. Poured into sterilized jar.
If you don't have a bellini or thermomix, don't worry just chop up the kiwis and apple roughly and do it on the stove top like you would other jams but make sure you keep eye on it so doesn't burn!

Green Juice #1

Hubby is on a juice kick at the moment.  He has alot of health issues and being allergic to medicinal anti-inflammatory doesn't help so he been trying some natural ways.

There are so many juice recipes out there but in my true style of doing things my own way, I figured we will just experiement with flavours we already had on hand.  Here is our first one, it was actually quite yummy!

Lemon Jam Drops

After coming across some of my Nanna's old handwritten recipes this week I went through a few different emotions.... Happy that I got to see her unique writing again then sad that she wasn't here with me anymore, then excited that I was going to make one of her recipes then guilty cause I knew I'd alter even my Nanna's recipe! Sorry Nanna but it was only a few minor alterations to use things I had here without a trip to the shop.

Anyway I had a heap of lemon curd I needed to use up and so made my Nanna's Jam Drops and replaced her favourite raspberry jam with the lemon curd, but will be making more this week with strawberry jam as these were so delicious they all disappeared really quickly!






















Lemon Jam Drops
Makes: approx 25-30 small biscuits (forgot to count before they got gobbled up!)

Ingredients
  • 125g butter, soft
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 cup SR flour
  • 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 1/4 cup rice flour (or cornflour)
  • Pinch of salt
  • Lemon Curd (or favourite jam)

Method:
  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add egg and vanilla and mix well.
  4. Sift dry ingredients into creamed mixture and combine well.
  5. Roll teaspoon amounts into balls and place on a greased oven tray or silicone mat.
  6. Make a little well in middle of each ball (I just use my finger) and add a little lemon curd or jam.
  7. Bake for 12-15mins then allow to cool on the tray for 5-10mins before moving them.
Note: If mixture is a bit dry just add a tsp of water.

Apple Pie Fries

I am a sucker for anything sweet and even though I attempt where possible to be good and use substitutions some days I just want something yummy and not care about the calories or fats...  So when I saw this recipe after browsing my pinterest boards of things I needed to try, I had to finally give it a go so I could use up the remaining applesauce in my fridge.

WOW... OMG... YUM!!!!! These were so good!!!!  The original recipe was on Oh, Bite It! and here is my version, pretty similar really just using ingredients I had on hand as some American ingredients we don't get here down under.






















Apple Pie Fries
Made: approx 2 dozen

Ingredients:
  • 2 sheets pre-made puff pastry
  • 3-4 Tbsp homemade applesauce
  • 1 egg
  • Sugar for sprinkling
  • Ice Cream, cream or caramel sauce for dipping
Method:
  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  2. With a fork whisk an egg with a splash of water for the egg wash and set aside.
  3. Spread the applesauce out on 1 sheet of puff pastry.
  4. Place the other sheet on top and slice into sticks. I used my daughters crinkle playdoh cutter (cleaned of course!)
  5. Place on a lined baking tray or silicone mat (I prefer silicone mat as so much easier!) and brush with egg wash. 
  6. Sprinkle tops with a bit of sugar and bake for 15-20mins or until pastry is golden brown.

Eat warm with ice cream, cream or caramel sauce!  I found a small container of left over caramel sauce in my fridge too and made this yummy treat into an awesomely yummy treat!!!!

Carrot & Pineapple Cakes

In an attempt to help out my friend with her ASD child who like Ella is a bad eater, I made these cakes for him to try.  He loves anything if comes in a cake form, I hope now I've done one he will like!

I found this recipe on Country at Heart Recipes and of course altered it to my liking.  I still like to give credit to the original recipe for the inspiration!






















Carrot & Pineapple Cakes
Made: 15 small cupcakes (not mini just smaller than normal muffin tin)

Ingredients:
  • 85g butter, softened
  • 85g natural greek yoghurt
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1 1/2 cup plain flour
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 130g carrot, grated
  • 150g pineapple (I used fresh, semi frozen as I had it in freezer), otherwise crushed canned is ok
  • 70g mixed seeds (or alternatively a nut of choice eg: walnuts)

Method:
  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees and line a muffin tray with liners.
  2. Cream together butter, yoghurt & sugar.
  3. Add eggs & vanilla and beat until combined, then dry ingredients and beat until combined.
  4. Next step will depend on your equipment... I use a Bellini so I just added carrots, pineapple & seeds and blitz until all crushed and combined.  If using a hand mixer, you may just want to stir through with a spoon, just pre-chop seeds & pineapple first. 
  5. Pour into cupcake liners and bake for 20-25 mins. They may seem soft inside thats because its mosit type of cake.

Eat warm as is or serve with cream cheese frosting.  This time around I was super lazy and just used the pre-made philly cream cheese frosting I already had in the fridge.

Pear Jam

I'm not a huge jam fan but I do love my homemade strawberry jam.  I've tried apricot and even plum but wasn't fussed on them, so when I had a few pears to use up I was hesitant to give it a go but I did and am so glad because this pear & vanilla jam is awesome!

I altered a recipe I found on Real Meals because I wanted to use less sugar and also I didn't have real vanilla pods or jamsetta. So here is my adaption... 






















Pear & Vanilla Jam

Ingredients:
  • 600g fresh pears (peeled & cored)
  • 200g sugar
  • 1/2 tsp citric acid
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1/2 tsp gelatine powder - optional
Method:
  1. I use a bellini (fake thermomix) so I just popped all the ingredients into the bowl except the gelatine and gave a quick turbo chop.
  2. Then set to 35mins at 100 degrees at speed 2 (no MC, put the basket on top of the lid instead to avoid splatters)

Savoury Crackers

Hands up who loves savoury shapes.... ME! ME! ME!

This is my third batch of these crackers and each time they get better! Plus each time it gets easier. I love knowing that I can eat these and I'm not having all the preservatives from the store bought ones. The little bit of work involved to me is worth it!






















Savoury Crackers
Makes: 2.5 trays full

Ingredients

  • 65g parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 200g Sour cream
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • Pinch Pepper
  • 3-4 tsp Smokey bbq seasoning
  • 2-3 tsp Sesame seeds
Method:
  1. Preheat oven to 110 (yep low and slow!)
  2. Using a food processor, bellini or thermomix mill parmesan (or use grated).
  3. Add flour and 150g sour cream & spices, mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually add more sour cream til looks like hundreds of little balls of dough. You don't want it too sticky as it will be too hard to roll out!
  5. On a silicone baking mat or pastry sheet, roll out until about 1-2mm thick. (I do it directly on by baking mat so less moving dough around).
  6. Because I use my baking mat I can't use a knife for cutting out, but I use my daughters playdoh swirly cutter (cleaned of course!) and slice into squares, then prick with fork for decorations.
  7. Bake for 70-80mins, until dry and cooked thru but not too brown!
  8. Allow to cool on trays then snap apart and keep in an air tight container.

Not so molten, lava cakes

You know that moment at the end of the day when you just want something thats yummy and but easy to make... yep well that was me tonight...  So I made these super easy and yummy lava cakes with a few substitutions so they weren't 'as' bad. They ended up being non-gooey, but still tasted great.  I either had too much flour or left in too long as they weren't quite the lava cakes I was hoping for, more like a super moist chocolate cake.  But hey any chocolate cake is good, am I right!






















Not So Molten Lava Cakes
Makes: 4 mini hearts

Ingredients
  • 60g chocolate (I just used chocolate chips)
  • 3 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 Tbsp applesauce (homemade)
  • 3 Tbsp plain flour
  • 1 egg
Method:
  1. Preheat oven 180 degrees
  2. In a microwave safe bowl, melt chocolate.  Mix in coconut oil and applesauce while chocolate still warm.
  3. Allow to cool for a couple of minutes then whisk in flour and egg.
  4. Bake for approx 8-10mins.

Next time I'll only use 2 Tbsp plain flour and take them out at 8mins, but it was still worth sharing as a yummy chocolate cake quick dessert.

Sight Words Bingo Printable

One of the biggest things we have trouble with Ella being partly non-verbal is her reading & recognising words.  She has a great memory and tends to learn things to memory and just says them like a parrot.  One of our goals this year is to get her actually recognise more sight words (not just sprouting them off memory), so I came up with this bingo game for her. 

I made multiple cards so she doesn't get used to it too fast, but be good for multiple kids to play at the same time.  Hope your kids enjoy it too!

To Do List printable

I love lists.... especially when you get to cross things off, feels great to accomplish things.  Today I gave my standard to do list a bit of jazzing up.  Thought be nice to share.  Hope you like it too!

Pancake Day

We love pancakes so when I remembered today was Shrove Tuesday, aka PANCAKE DAY I was doing mini dance! Whoop Whoop!!!  Nothing beats having pancakes mid week, its like a special treat! But as much as I love eating them, I hate making them.  Standing over a hot pan trying to get the perfect colour, size etc... urgh hate it! Or maybe its just that Ella decides right when I'm making them to need me and I end up burning some.  So today I made a couple of flat ones and then decided to make the rest into cupcakes!  They worked out pretty good if I do say so :-)

I altered a basic pancake recipe to use less sugar, since they will be eaten with maple syprup I didn't want a sugar rush.  Plus I substituted out the butter for some coconut oil.






















Pancakes
Makes: 12 small cupcakes and 6 flat pancakes

Ingredients:
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp coconut oil 
  • 2 cups SR Flour
  • 1/4 tsp bi-carb soda
  • 3 Tbsp sugar
Method:
  1. In a bowl whisk together all wet ingredients.
  2. Gradually add the dry ingredients, whisking each bit together until well combined.
  3. Add a tad more milk if you think mixture is too thick.
  4. Fry off on an oiled frypan for traditional pancakes or pour mixture into cupcake liners and bake at 180 degrees for approx 10-15mins.
  5. Serve with your choice of pancake topping.

Frozen hot chocolate

I'm not a hot drink person. I don't do tea or coffee or chai latte not even caramel macchiato!  I'll have the occasional hot chocolate on a cold day, but not often.  But recently I read a post on a cooking group about iced coffee and it made me thik "oh that sounds good, even though I hate coffee!".  So in my typical style, I used the idea to make something slightly different.

So off I went and boiled the kettle and mixed some boiling water with drinking chocolate and let it cool for a few minutes.  Then poured it into ice cube trays and popped them in freezer.  Today I finally remembered they were in there I grabbed out a few and blitzed them up in my blender with a scoop of ice cream and a splash of milk. 

OMG it was the best brain freeze ever!






















If you are watching what you eat you could substitute the ice cream for yoghurt, coconut milk or almond milk, just remember to freeze them first so your drink is like a frozen slushie!

Printable kids activity - maze

It's nice and early on this lovely sunny gold coast saturday morning, and instead of lazing about watching cartoons with Ella, I'm about to head off to do my part at the Kindy fundraising sausage sizzle at Masters.  It's been a bit of a rush to organise it but I think it will come together ok, hopefully!

Before I fly out, today I wanted to share another kids activity, seriously you can never have too many activities to keep them occupied.  This is another of Ella's favourites, mazes.  Because Ella is a very repetitive person (thanks to her ASD) we are grateful that we bought the cheap laminator when it was at Aldi all those years ago as it gets a good workout now. Great for letting her do the same activites over and over again, I would highly recommend finding one if your kids like doing the activities a few times too!
